UFC 310 saw such amazing fights. The two fights that I want to talk about are Pantoja vs Asakura, and Sterling vs Evloev. Pantoja vs Asakura was the main fight on the main card and was an interesting fight being that Asakura is coming from a Japanese MMA promotion and fighting straight away for the title. Asakura is known for being an intense fighter with very real knockout power, even breaking a jaw in a fight once. Pantoja is easily on his way to becoming one of the flyweight goats, and a hall of famer. Pantoja proceeded to submit Asakura in the second round via guillotine. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to watch the main card, but on the prelim card I was able to watch Sterling vs Evloev.
Sterling vs Evloev was a fight that I have been wanting to watch for a very long time. It was postponed for this date, but the reason as to why I’ve wanted to watch this fight so badly is because they’re both grapplers. I myself love grappling and the grappling exchanges were fun to watch. The fight was very fast paced, Aljamain looked strong and was able to control Evloev, something no other fighter has been able to do. I think where Aljo went wrong was not enough damage, Evloev was able to get off more damage from an outside perspective, even though Aljo controlled more.
