UFC Fight Night: Yan vs. Figueiredo Results (Main Card)

Yesterday morning saw an amazing card from Macao, China. The card featured many young prospects coming up in the UFC, as well as featured a fight between two ex-champions of the UFC.

The two fights that cought my eye, were Petr Yan vs Deiveson Figueiredo and Song Kenan vs Muslim Salikhov.

The Kenan v Salikhov fight was an interesting fight with an exciting finish. Salikhov being 40 years old was a spectacle to see fight, as he looked well conditioned and of course athletic. Salikhov is known for his spinning attacks, and is also well known throughout China, winning many tournaments and matches there. He knocked out Kenan in the first round via a Spinning Head Wheel Kick.

The fight that the card was based around was a very dominant performance by Petr Yan. Yan winning his last fight via unanimous decision also won this fight by unanimous decision as well. Throughout the fight, Yan was able to outclass his opponent in the striking, and any grappling exchanges the two had, Yan was able to avoid or reverse. In the bout, Yan seemed physically stronger than Figueiredo, but in the fourth, Figgy was able to knock Yan down and inflict significant damage. To the extent of how much it hurt Yan is iffy, but the knockdown is a tell.
